WooCommerce

The Phew plugin for WooCommerce supports the classic checkout and the block-based Cart and Checkout. It shows the offer, creates policies when orders are paid and cancels them on refunds.

  • WordPress 6.4 or later, WooCommerce 8.5 or later, PHP 8.1 or later.
  • HTTPS on the store. The plugin refuses to run over plain HTTP.
  1. Upload the plugin zip we send you under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate it.

  2. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Phew and select Connect. This opens a one-time setup link to getphew.com/join/… (single use, expires after 7 days) where you create or connect your Phew merchant account.

  3. Phew reads your product catalogue and classifies each product. Ineligible products are never offered cover.

  4. Choose where the offer appears: on the cart, in the checkout, or both.

  5. Place a test order. The plugin uses sandbox keys until you switch it to live.

WooCommerce event Phew action
Cart or checkout rendered Fetches an offer for eligible items and shows it
Order status becomes processing or completed Creates a policy for each covered item
Refund created Cancels the policy for each refunded covered item
Order cancelled Cancels all policies for the order

The premium is added to the order as a fee line, so it appears on the receipt and refunds work as normal.

The plugin keeps its API key on the server and never sends it to the browser; all calls to Phew are made server-side. Disconnecting the plugin revokes the key.
